Our Story
Fence Craft was built as a continuation, not a starting point.
The company reflects decades of work in the fencing industry. Over time, that work showed what lasts, what fails, and why the quality of installation matters long after the job is finished. Those lessons shaped a steady way of doing business—careful planning, consistent standards, and responsibility for the final result.
Family has always been part of that journey. Multiple generations worked together in fencing and related trades, sharing both the workload and the pride that comes with it. That continuity continues to define Fence Craft today. The same expectations apply to every project, whether it’s a small residential fence or a larger commercial installation. Fence Craft exists to keep craftsmanship in the fencing industry and to build fences—and relationships—that last.

Meet the Owner
Roy Garner is the President of Fence Craft and has worked in the fencing industry since 1987. He began working in fencing while still in high school and continued through college, learning the trade hands-on from the start.

In 1992, Roy graduated summa cum laude from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he began a career in banking with Wachovia Bank in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Soon after, he and his wife, Kim, moved to Atlanta, Georgia, as he continued his work with Wachovia.
Several years later, Roy returned fully to the fencing industry when he had the opportunity to purchase the fence company where his career began. Over time, he went on to start or acquire three additional fence companies, along with a concrete cutting and demolition business. He worked alongside a dedicated group of managing partners and gained broad experience in operations, leadership, and long-term planning.
Family has always played a role in the work. Roy’s father, William “Bill” Garner, joined daily operations in 2002. He first managed the concrete-cutting company and later supported management and staff training across multiple locations. As Roy and Kim raised their family, their children also became involved at different points, learning the value of hard work, trust, loyalty, and building strong relationships.
In 2020, Roy accepted an unsolicited offer to purchase the businesses he had built. Rather than marking an end, it created a new beginning. On May 24, 2021, Fence Craft Inc. officially began operations.Today, Roy remains actively involved in Fence Craft. He stays close to the work, helps guide planning, and ensures every project reflects the standards and values the company was built on. Alongside him, the next generation—including his daughter Bridget Garner Brunelle and her husband, Jeremy Nole Brunelle—continues to build on a family tradition that began nearly 40 years ago.
Experience and Values
Fence Craft is guided by experience and family-taught values. Skills are passed down through daily work and attention to detail.
The work is personal. Every fence carries our company name. That sense of ownership influences how each site is prepared, how materials are installed, and how finished work is reviewed. A project is only considered complete once it meets those standards.
Fencing as a Professional Service
Each project is planned around the property, the material, and how the fence will be used over time.
Our services include:
- Wood, vinyl (PVC), chain link, and ornamental fence installation
- Residential and commercial fencing
- Fence repairs and replacements
- Gate operators and access control systems
- Railings, dog kennels, temporary fencing, and specialty fencing solutions
Installation methods follow industry standards and account for local soil and site conditions.
Our Craftsmanship Guarantee
We take a great deal of pride in our Craftsmanship. We offer a 12-month craftsmanship guarantee. If an issue arises with our craftsmanship we will correct it.
Manufacturer warranties apply where offered. Natural material characteristics, storm damage, acts of God, and environmental conditions are not covered. We believe clear expectations matter, so material considerations are explained before work begins.

Where We Serve
Fence Craft proudly serves communities across North Carolina, with a strong focus on Eastern North Carolina. Our team is based in Dortches, near Rocky Mount. This gives us hands-on knowledge of local properties, soil conditions, and regional installation needs.
We provide residential and commercial fence installation services throughout Nash, Wilson, Johnston, Edgecombe, Franklin, Halifax, Northampton, and Warren counties. Working locally allows us to plan and install fences well-suited to the area and built to last over time.
Fence Craft builds relationships—and fencing, too.
We believe strong results come from clear communication, steady follow-through, and accountability for the work performed. That approach guides how we work with every homeowner, business owner, and property manager.
